Katz & Chard (2000) in the book entitled "Engaging Children's Minds" once commented that it is developmentally characteristic of young children to respond in a relatively undifferentiated way to all of their experiences. During the early years, the stream of daily life occurences does not occur in categories such as science or history. The content of experience is more like events and topics than separate disciplines. Project work (Learning which is based upon an interest or theme) does not require children's minds to be constrained by subject boundaries. The real life experiences enable our children to make connections between what they have learnt in class with their surroundings. This type of learning is more authentic than mere labelling of pictures in workbooks.
