MEN’S FELLOWSHIP

Introduction

Men’s Fellowship (MF) is a gathering of men filled with passion to see other men find salvation, inner peace and fulfillment in life through Jesus Christ.

We are men committed to daily Christ-like living through a transformed life by the guiding influence and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Main Objective

The Bible, in Philippians 2:4, reminds us to care for one another and to encourage one another in the LORD. "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others " (Philippians 2:4).

MF presents an opportunity for all men to come together as the children of God to encourage and strengthen one another in the faith.

Activities of Men’s Fellowship

A. Bible Reading and Bible Study

Our main focus for the year 2008 is for our men to study God’s Word and be able to grow in His grace.

Spiritual maturity does not come overnight but that we should persevere to be like Christ through the reading and the mediation of His blessed Word. As James says that we should not be a reader only, but that we should be doers of the Word as well.

The Sunday School Bible Study, held every Sunday morning in two groups, is facilitated by MF members. We are now going through the book "The Measure of a Man"

All MF members are also encouraged to read the whole Bible in one year.

B. Evangelism

"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16: 15)

"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." (Matt 9:36-38)

Every born-again Christian needs to take up the cross to follow and to obey Jesus Christ’s command to spread the good news of salvation through Him. God has chosen His disciples that they may remain and be found faithful to tell the gospel message to everyone.

God says that those who spread the gospel is wise and shall shine as the stars for ever and ever. This is because all that we do shall come to pass but every soul that is saved shall have everlasting life and the reward is eternal. "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever". (Daniel 12: 3)

In this respect, MF members are currently actively involved in Door to Door Evangelism coordinated by the Evangelistic Band Fellowship (EBF)

C. Prayer

God hears our prayers. The LORD is delighted to hear the prayers of His saints. He answers prayers.

Therefore, we encourage our men to come together to pray for the church, the session members and for one another. Christian brethren should uphold one another in their prayers that we will not fall into temptations and be a snare.

There is a once a month prayer meeting in replacement of Sunday School Bible Study. In addition, there is a monthly home prayer session held at one of our member’s home.

D. Fellowship Meeting

MF conducts monthly Fellowship meeting including combined meeting with the Ladies’ Fellowship (LF). Outside and internal speakers exhort us on special interest topics, preceded by testimonies from members.

Combined seminar is also held once a year. This year’s topic is "Enriching Our Marriages".

E. Care and Other Ministries

Visitations and care for the sick and needy are part of MF’s ministry. More members are encouraged to participate and to help plan and develop this ministry.

MF members are also involved in various other Ministries of the church namely; Rehoboth Evening Service, Chinese Service Choir, Golden Age Fellowship (GAF), Evangelism and Discipleship Department (EDD), Mission trips, Outings and Monthly Family Worship meetings.
