Have you been embarrassed at times when someone asked you the meaning of certain verses in the Bible or when a non-Christian friend asks you how do you know the Bible is true? Do you know how to find the right answers? “… and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” 1 Pet 3:15.
It is not a shame not to know the answer, but it would be a shame if you do nothing about it. The Bible is God revealing Himself to us showing us what we ought to know about Him, and how we may live our lives in a manner that glorifies Him. The Bible also exhorts every believer to study God’s Word. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of God.” 2 Tim 2:15
Many Lifers spend years acquiring secular knowledge and degrees that will advance their career. But how much time do we spend acquiring Bible knowledge that will advance our spiritual life and strengthen our faith? When was the last time you read through the Bible?
God has given us the Word of God so that we might feed on it daily, and in the process of meditation and study, be built up in the most holy faith, and equipped to do every good work that God calls us to, including explain to someone the hope we have as a believer. In order to do this, we need both head and heart knowledge of God’s Word, and where to find the answers that we need. The Sunday School is designed for that purpose: to feed you with the fish, and teach you how to fish.
Just as a baby needs milk, a young Christian also need to drink the gospel milk in order to grow. As he progresses through childhood into adolescence, he needs more nourishing solid meat in order to develop healthy bodies, stronger muscles, bones and teeth. Likewise, the Christian needs the meat and solid doctrines of God’s Word in order that he might grow in maturity, and not be tossed to and fro by every deceptive doctrine (Eph 4:14). He needs to learn to apply the Bible lessons in his daily lives as a single, as a Christian in a dating relationship, as a married spouse, and as a parent.
Towards this end, there are many classes for you to choose from in the adults department of the Sunday School. Whether you prefer a more interactive Bible Study discussion format, or a lecture style, there is a class for everyone:
