Missions Report:Missions
Report from Sister Pui Meng
(September 2007)
2.9.07
“I am the
vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same
bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John
15:1,5.
We greet you in the Wonderful Name of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ.
The month of July and August is like autumn, cool
and dry. The trees are turning yellow and shedding their leaves. It is
the season for animals’ migration, which is also the peak period for
safari.
The August school holiday has hastily passed and
the students were back to school. Time waits for no man.
New Life Team Visit
Rev. Daniel Khoo and team (comprised of Kok Wai,
Freddie and Janet, Lilian and Lucas Wong) arrived on 14.7.07. During
their stay, the Lord enabled them to achieve many tasks. Such as: -
v
Rev. Daniel Khoo was able to minister to many Pastors from our
vicinity thru’ the 1st ever conducted Pastors’ Seminar since
1998. He shared with them from a book “Changed: Experiencing God’s
Transforming Power” by Rev. Bill Mills. The Pastors expressed it was
very enriching and wished it could have been more than one day.

Pastors’ Seminar
v
Bro.Freddie and Sis.Janet taught the children in the Sunday
School. Bro.Kok Wai ministered to about 10 students from Kiluani Sec.
Sch. who attends Bible studies with us. Bro. Lucas taught the youths in
YF.
v
Bro. Kok Wai, Bro.Lucas and Joshua (our worker) with Rev. Khoo
took 2 days to work on the new generator. They checked, laid the cables,
made the necessary changes and ensured all lines are working. It was not
an easy task as some of the cables were not well connected and laid.
The delivery of the
generator was delayed and arrived on the 2nd week of their
stay. The Lord granted Rev. D. Khoo much wisdom to solve all problems in
record time. Praise the Lord.
v
They also met up with the new Head Master of Kiluani Secondary
School. He expressed that the school is interested to work with the
mission again. Praise the Lord.
Life Team visit
Bro. Lim Pin with Bro. Francis Leong, Sis.
Mimi and Sis. Evelyn Tan arrived here on 4.8.07.
v
On the 1st week, Sis. Mimi and Sis. Evelyn conducted 3
days of VBS to about 120 children and also taught in the Sunday School.
The children were very happy and beaming with joy when they saw Sis.
Mimi. They echoed all the songs she taught them during last year’s VBS.
Now they learned more Bible stories, new songs and art & craft. They
were teachable and enjoyed all the lessons very much.

v
Bro. Lim Pin and Bro. Francis Leong spoke at the Church Seminar
for 2 days. They taught them on giving, prayer, and women leadership in
Church, female circumcision with the showing of a videotape of Female
Circumcision in Kenya and idolatry.
Praise God that about 80%
of our church members came for the seminar. It had never been so well
attended by the members before. Some of the ladies came very early in
the morning to prepare lunch before the seminar so that they will not
miss any messages. They have learned much from the messages. Surely,
they have grown in commitment and shown a great interest in the Word of
God.
Pastor David Aluvisia from
Lenkejabe Church came with some of his church members on the 2nd
day of the seminar.
We thank God for all visitors who had brought
invaluable spiritual blessings to all of us. Praise God for enabling
each of them to use their talent well for His glory. The Lord confirmed
His blessing by sending a few days of good rain to us in August.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Mission
v
Joshua, our general worker cum guard learned much from Rev.
Daniel Khoo on how to lay and fix up the cables and light.
v
Currently, all the houses, clinic and church are lighted. Kiluani
is like a little town from afar. Thank God for the New Life team who has
made life more comfortable for us and Lifers for the new generator.
v
All the mission staff had a good meeting with Rev. Daniel Khoo.
He encouraged and commended them for their faithfulness and good work
with the mission.
v
Thank God that the Kenya Power has installed the transformer but
have yet to connect the cables to our station.
Clinic
v
In July, a team of trainees from Kikuyu Mission Hospital came
here to conduct the Eye Clinic and did some simple eye surgery e.g.
Surgery for Trichiasis and I & D for chalazion.

A
Trainee was doing a simple Eye surgery
v
Two months ago, a 15 year old Maasai lady delivered a baby girl
with a face presentation. I had never encountered such cases before. By
God’s grace the baby was delivered but was ‘flat’ at birth. The good
Lord revived the baby after resuscitation. All glory to our Great
Physician.
v
Three weeks ago, another lady delivered a premature baby at about
32 weeks gestation. Thank God for sustaining the baby boy. He weighs
about 1.1kg only. He was then transferred to Kajiado Hospital
immediately. I visited him last week; he was doing well and growing. The
mother was very grateful to God for preserving her baby because she had
a miscarriage in her 1st pregnancy. Praise the Lord.
In all the challenges, “ We can trust our
All-Knowing God for the unknown situation.”
Church
- On 22.7.07, Rev. Daniel Khoo conducted the 1st baptism
since the mission started in 1997. He baptized 4 ladies and had 6
transfers of membership. Holy Communion was also ministered for the 1st
time. It was a day of rejoicing in the Lord.

Baptism
- During the 2 teams’ visits, a Pastor’s Seminar, a children VBS and
a Church Seminar were conducted. Young and old, all are blessed by the
visitors. Praise the Lord.
- Two weeks ago, the youths with eight mamas and 3 men climbed a
mountain. Mama David Keru, a grandmother of about 80 years, cheerfully
and victoriously reached the summit. With God all things are possible.
Glory to His Name.
We had John Letuya, 2nd
year student from BCEA to speak on “Following Christ”. We also spent
some time in groups praying. Thank God for the blessed time of seeking
Him up in the mountain.
- Pastor Omweri was away for a month to take a rest at home due to
the recent poor health. Thank God that he is well now.
Prayer Items
- Since the 2nd team left, we have not been receiving
rain. Do pray that the Lord will send rain.
- The church members and the youths will grow in commitment and
hunger for God’s Word esp. those who were baptized.
- The men in the church will be committed in the Lord.
- The Kenya Power will soon connect the cables for us.
- The medical ministry will be a channel of witness and blessing to
the community.
- Wisdom and good health in serving the Lord.
His unworthy servant
