| The Lord's Day Worship

The Lord’s Day for public worship is on Sunday,
following the example of the Apostolic Church which met on the first day
of the week to break bread and hear the apostles preach (Acts 20:7).
Sunday is called the Lord’s Day according to Revelation 1:10, for it was
the day that our Lord rose from the dead. Hence, we are to faithfully
keep this day for corporate worship (Hebrews 10:25).
Two English Worship
Services are held in the main sanctuary (both preceded by a
Scripture memory session):
One Evening Worship
Service (named ‘Rehoboth’) is held in the Chinese Service Hall:
The Lord’s Day Worship is chaired by a church leader.
The Worship is regulated according to Scripture and includes: Call to
Worship, Invocation, Reading of Holy Scripture, Praise, Offering,
Prayer, Preaching of God’s Word, and Benediction. Only the King James
Bible, which is the most faithful and accurate English translation, is
used.
There must be holiness and reverence, not only in the order of
Worship but also in the right attitude of each worshipper. Worshippers
are exhorted to be present before the Service begins, to pray silently
and prepare to meet the Lord. The whole exercise of the Lord’s Day
Worship is "for a witness that the members of this Church as lively
stones are built up a spiritual House to offer up spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ" (Inscription on our Church Foundation
Stone). |
