Testimonies of Saintsby Francis Leong
A Testimony To God’s Goodness and Mercies
I would like to give a testimony to God’s goodness and mercies in
seeing me through my recent operations to unblock two major arteries
that were narrowed by 80% and 90% respectively.
As I looked back, it is clear that God has led me each step of the
way. In fact, in this whole incident, God has demonstrated so clearly
that He indeed knows us better than we do ourselves! God in Matthew
10:30 declares that “even the hairs on our heads are numbered and known
to Him!”
When friends and colleagues came to know about my heart-stent
operation, most of them were completely surprised! They have reckoned
that I would be the last person requiring such an operation because I
looked so fit. I personally thought so too. I have been very careful
with my food intake over the last six or seven years and I am seldom
sick. But God knows best. He knew that inside this apparently fit
looking man there are two major arteries that are substantially blocked
and in His goodness and mercies, He has instrumented a series of events
leading to the unblocking of these arteries before a heart-attack set
in.
It started about three months ago when I started sensing slight pain
in the chest area. Initially, I tried to ignore it because the pain was
really slight and it came on about 3 – 4 times in a day. Besides, I was
also not sure if it is the chest muscle that is aching since I also have
a history of muscle pain.
However, when this slight pain persisted for more than a month, I
started to be concerned and decided to consult my regular GP. His advice
was that if the pain continues, I should go for a treadmill test. The
pains persisted; so, I took the GP’s advice and booked a treadmill test
with a cardiologist clinic. Upon reviewing the test result, the
cardiologist registered his suspicion that there is a possibility of
blockages and the only way to confirm it is to perform an angiogram.
On 13 October, I checked into Mt. Elizabeth Hospital for the
angiogram which revealed blockages in two major arteries. The angiogram
led on to angioplasty and the insertion of two stents to unblock the two
arteries.
The whole operation was a success without any complication and I was
fit enough to be discharged from hospital on the third day.
All thanks and praise to our All-wise God who also loves and cares
for His children. |
