Growing in Personal Holiness & Study of John’s Gospel
THE WORDS of a familiar hymn inform us about God's holiness:
"Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee - Perfect in pow'r, in
love and purity." And yet we are to be holy as God is holy (1 Peter
1:15,16). This lifelong pursuit is not optional but meant for every
Christian. It begins at the point of salvation and culminates only when
we see the Lord face to face (1 John 3:2,3).
What is personal holiness, and how can we grow in it?
How do we crucify the flesh (Galatians 5:24) and lay aside "the sin
which doth so easily beset us" (Hebrews 12:1)? May these sermons on
Growing in Personal Holiness help us to make this a priority, for
without it our faith is only a façade.
The 3 sermons from John’s Gospel this quarter will
help us to examine our attitudes toward Christ - Are we like some
disciples who deserted Him, or His own brethren who misunderstood His
mission, or the Jews who misjudged Him?

REHOBOTH SUNDAY WORSHIP 6:00 pm
Evangelism!
JESUS SAID,
"Follow me and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4:19).
This is only one of many biblical passages on our role of soul-winning.
However, the majority of Christians are not actively evangelising
others. Instead of launching out into the deep to let down our nets for
a draught, we spend much of our time mending nets.
How shall we be revived and stirred up to act upon
the urgent need of the hour? Come and listen to these timely sermons on
Evangelism! Learn what it means to be a true disciple of Christ,
constrained by the love of God for sinners to bring the life-giving
message of salvation to them.
"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and
weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with
rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." (Psalm 126:5-6)
