As We See the Day Approaching

Life B-P Church 75^th Anniversary Service, 19^th October 2025

Text: Hebrews 10:23-25

• In response to knowing that Jesus Christ is supreme, we must remain faithful to Him in two matters:

1. The Day for Us to Be Renewed in Christ

• Verse 25 – “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is…”
• Meeting together as a church each Sunday is needful as it enables us to be renewed in Christ.
• This will help us to “hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.” (v.23)
• When we meet, we are to “consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.” (v.24)
• Sunday became the meeting day of the Church from the time of Christ’s resurrection. (Cf. John 20:19-27)
• Hence, it is called ‘the Lord’s Day.’ (Revelation 1:10)

2. The Day for Us to Be Ready to Meet Christ

• At the time when Hebrews was written, Jewish believers were facing severe persecution for their faith in Christ.
• They needed to overcome their fear and be faithful to Christ by knowing that Christ will return. (Cf. Hebrews 9:28)
• As we see this Day approaching, we must:

⃝ Maintain our fervency and alertness against all the sin, deception and apostasy of the End Times.

⃝ Keep loving God with all our heart and loving our neighbour as ourselves. (Cf. 2 Timothy 3:1-4)

⃝ Warn unbelievers about God’s judgment of the world so that they may turn to Christ and be saved. (Cf. 2 Corinthians 6:2)

2. How do you prepare yourself to be renewed in Christ each Sunday?

3. How will you prepare yourself to meet Christ when He returns?
