Living a Meaningful Life
Life B-P Church Worship Service, 15th February 2026
Text: Hebrews 11:23-29
We all wish to live a long and meaningful life. This is one of the common wishes during the Chinese New Year. However, many of the Chinese New Year practices are centered on materialism, vanity and superstition. One example that stood out in the Bible is Moses. He was a man who had a long and meaningful life.
From the scripture readings in Exodus and Acts, we know the first 40 years of Moses were spent in the courts of Egypt as a prince. His next 40 years were spent in the desert of Midian as a shepherd. His final 40 years were spent in obeying God in leading the people to the Promised Land. So we see, the first part of his life was to learn to be something. Second part was to learn about being nothing. The last part was to learn that God is everything. What can we learn from the life of Moses from Heb 11:23-29?
Let us reject the way of the world. Let us live a life that is pleasing to God. Plead like Moses in Psalm 90:12 ‘So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom’.
We thank God that Lifers are very generous in their offerings towards missions. In terms of support, the church gives priority to our fully-supported missionaries and we would like you to be aligned with the church’s position when giving towards missions. Rather than giving offerings that are designated to specific individuals or mission stations, you are encouraged to give to the Missions Fund and let the Missions Committee disburse them as it sees fit. Your understanding on this will facilitate an informed stewardship of resources for the Lord’s work in missions. If you wish to contribute financially to missionaries, please indicate "DO Missions" in the reference field in your e-Offering via the Life Church PayNow QR Code. May the Lord bless your cheerful giving.
