We are deeply grateful for God’s faithfulness in the Young Lifers Ministry (“YLM”). The YLM consists of both the Young Adults Fellowship (“YAF”) and Youth Fellowship (“YF”). Our theme for this year, “(Re)discovering the Love of Christ,” is drawn from 1 John 4:9:

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.”

Deepening Our Knowledge of God’s Word

Throughout 2024, we studied Ezra and 1 Timothy, delving into the rich lessons on repentance, grace, God’s sovereignty, and the importance of sound doctrine and godly leadership. One YLM member shared how his study of 1 Timothy helped him recognize and respond to prosperity gospel teachings during a trip abroad, as he remembered Paul’s exhortation in 1 Timothy 6:6‑7:

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”

— an encouraging reminder that what we learn in Scripture has real‑life impact.

Our Open YLM sessions also gave us fresh insights into the Psalms, as invited speakers shared how specific passages have shaped their faith. These sessions reminded us that the Psalms are not just ancient poetry but living words that speak into our daily struggles and joys.

Building One Another Up in Christ

The YAF Retreat, themed “Growing Pains, Chasing Gains”, was a time of deep fellowship and learning. As the YAF community grew and matured together in the faith over the past few years, the 2024 retreat saw the joyful addition of many young children. Their presence brought a new dynamic, offering us a glimpse into both the blessings and challenges of family life within a Christ‑centered community.

Meanwhile, our YF Camp, focused on “To Live is Christ, To Die is Gain”, challenged us to see Christ not just as part of our lives but as the very purpose of our existence. Through sermons, discussions, and activities, we were reminded that true life is found in Christ alone.

Reaching Out to Those Outside Christ

In 2024, we also took intentional steps to cultivate a heart for evangelism among our youth and young adults. Street Evangelism and the “Word Made Flesh, Food Made Fresh” event gave us opportunities to share the Gospel and invite others to hear about Christ. One of the highlights was seeing Linda, whom we had met on Orchard Road, and her mother join us after attending one of these outreach events—a testimony of how God works through simple acts of witnessing for Christ.

Our mission trip to Batam, Indonesia, where we conducted a Vacation Bible School, was another reminder of God’s faithfulness. Seeds of the gospel planted in previous years continue to take root, and we were blessed to see how God has worked and is continuing to work in the hearts of those we served.

Looking Ahead to 2025

We believe that koinonia (Christian fellowship) is essential to our walk with God. Genuine koinonia and love for one another can only be developed by knowing and experiencing the love of God toward us, which is manifested in Jesus His Son. As we step into the new year, we invite you to join us in (Re)discovering the love of Christ.

Going into 2025, let us prioritise Christian fellowship through the following three ways:

Commit to one another – Let’s strive to build a gospel-centered culture in our church, supporting and encouraging each other daily (Hebrews 3:12-13).

Warn one another in love – When we face struggles and temptations, let’s gently restore each other and point one another back to the truth (Galatians 6:1).

Present Christ to one another – Let’s remind each other of the cross and the love Christ has shown us, so that we, too, may love one another as He commanded (John 13:35).

We warmly invite you to journey with us in 2025 as we grow in Christ together. May we walk this journey of faith together, encouraging one another as we fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Offering for Missions

We thank God that Lifers are very generous in their offerings towards missions. In terms of support, the church gives priority to our fully-supported missionaries and we would like you to be aligned with the church’s position when giving towards missions. Rather than giving offerings that are designated to specific individuals or mission stations, you are encouraged to give to the Missions Fund and let the Missions Committee disburse them as it sees fit. Your understanding on this will facilitate an informed stewardship of resources for the Lord’s work in missions. If you wish to contribute financially to missionaries, please indicate "DO Missions" in the reference field in your e-Offering via the Life Church PayNow QR Code. May the Lord bless your cheerful giving.
