Christian fellowship is one of the characteristics of the early church for the purpose of strengthening and building up each other in the most holy faith (Acts 2:42). Paul too urged us to come together as a community of faith, to be united in love, one in spirit and one mind, focusing on humility, mutual encouragement, compassion, and empathy towards one another (Philippians 2:1-2).

We are delighted to announce the new Adults Fellowship commenced on Saturday, 17 Jan 2026, where adult members and friends in the age group between 35 and 45 years old can come together to fellowship with one another. This age group is often known as the “prime of life” in terms of sharpness of mind, productiveness, and career building. Yet, it is also important that God has the prime place in our hearts!

Indeed, the struggles faced by them are real:  1) they are the sandwich generation that juggle with career, young children and ageing parents, 2) heavy work demands and rising stress, 3) job insecurity and mid-career doubts, 4) social isolation and loneliness, 5) pressure to “keep up” and 6) declining mental health.

We have about 300 adult members in this age group and only about 20% are in the church fellowship group/NBCs or active in a ministry. If one is not rooted in God’s Word and walking closely with God, the aforesaid struggles can easily cause him/her to be disillusioned, down and out. As God’s people, we are set apart and endowed with His truth to thrive and live a meaningful and purposeful Christian life to His glory.

To those in this group, you are not alone and it is not safe to be alone. God has engraved our names on God’s hand and He has promised, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).

There are many fellow sojourners like you, struggling to balance between the Christian faith and the world. “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17). Therefore, it would be wonderful for us to come together to share our experiences, God’s goodness and uplift one another in the Lord amid the pressures and struggles of life (Acts 2:46-47).

We must refuse to “waste” our prime years. Instead, let us use our gifts, energy, and abilities to glorify God; willing to serve, disciple, and strengthen others in the body of Christ. We can’t do this by our resolute and will power, for “without Me, ye can do nothing” (John 15:4).

We need the indwelling Spirit to kindle our love for Him, to rule in us and to energise us to do His will. Let us pray and ask God to move our hearts with the burning desire for Him. Make wise investments, and depend upon the Lord, who by His Spirit works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure, that we may be God-honouring families and devoted individuals (cf. Philippians 2:13).

As Jim Elliot once said, “He is no fool who gives away what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose”. Let us expect great things from Him and step out of our comfort zone to attempt great things for Him. Honour Him who had given us so much and He will honour you for your love to glorify His name for “faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24). Amen.

Offering for Missions

We thank God that Lifers are very generous in their offerings towards missions. In terms of support, the church gives priority to our fully-supported missionaries and we would like you to be aligned with the church’s position when giving towards missions. Rather than giving offerings that are designated to specific individuals or mission stations, you are encouraged to give to the Missions Fund and let the Missions Committee disburse them as it sees fit. Your understanding on this will facilitate an informed stewardship of resources for the Lord’s work in missions. If you wish to contribute financially to missionaries, please indicate "DO Missions" in the reference field in your e-Offering via the Life Church PayNow QR Code. May the Lord bless your cheerful giving.
