Our LF theme for year 24/25 is “Building up Marys & Marthas”. Mirroring the two sisters in their devotion to Jesus as recorded in Luke 10: one sitting at His feet, the other busy serving Him and their guests. Both sisters loved our Lord Jesus and showed their devotion in different forms.
In the same tune, we provide platforms for both: sitting at the feet of Jesus through our regular Bible study and messages given by invited speakers at our monthly Tea Fellowship meetings. Currently, we are using John MacArthur’s guidebook on Ephesians for Bible Study.
For Tea Fellowship, we recently completed a series of seven messages on Revelation by Elder Chin Hoong Chor. We are also blessed to have Pastor Charles deliver a two-part series on Jewish Feasts for May and June. Thereafter, Mrs Chin will conduct a two-part series on Genesis.
Sisters are also encouraged to serve like Martha through visitation, Holy Communion element preparation, and other roles to support our church. A group of sisters also reaches out to newcomers and has regular lunch fellowship after Sunday services.
Our once-a-month outings provide a platform for sisters to connect and mutually encourage and edify one another as they visit parks and places of interest in Singapore.
The ukulele team is also growing — not just in number, but in their engagements to edify the sick and downhearted through singing with ukulele accompaniment.
Come September, we will commemorate our 47th anniversary. Praise God for seeing us through the past 47 years and for the many sisters who have come through LF.
It is our prayer that the LF sisters will continue to grow in the Lord and that more sisters will join us for our activities — for both fellowship and spiritual growth.
Hebrews 10:24–25 — "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
