The Men’s Ministry (MM) was formed in 2016 to reach out to all men in our church — to prepare them to work, lead, protect, and steward His creation (Gen 2:15). The objectives of the MM are:
- To build Christian men to be godly and faithful disciples of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (2 Tim 2:2)
- To train men to fulfil their calling and mandate as husbands, workers, fathers, friends, and servants. (Gen 2:15)
- To provide an opportunity for Christian men of all ages to share Christian fellowship, experiences, and mutual edification. (Prov 27:17)
We do this through study of God’s Word via regular Bible study classes, fellowship meetings, and talks by invited speakers — to deepen our understanding of Scripture and apply its teachings to daily life. We also organize outings and activities (farm visits, nature walks, etc.) to foster bonding and brotherhood among brethren.
To help Christian men perform their responsibilities, we anchor ourselves on a strong foundation in God’s Word. Bible Study (BS) sessions are held fortnightly — virtual via Zoom on Friday evenings, and in‑person at Beulah Room 2‑1 on Saturday afternoons. Each BS session is led by a Bible Study Leader (BSL) who begins with a chapter overview, theme, and key points, followed by breakout discussion groups. These smaller groups encourage members to share insights, ask questions, and apply the passage together for mutual encouragement and spiritual growth.
We are currently studying the books of Ezra & Nehemiah using a guidebook by John MacArthur. The study is designed for 13 lessons (to be completed by July 2025). These books offer powerful lessons on leadership, faith, perseverance, and obedience — essential qualities for Christian men.
Besides Bible study, MM also organized the following activities in 2024:
- Bible Study Leaders’ Training: Equipped men with tools to interpret Scripture and share its message with others.
- Christian Heritage Walk: On 3 Mar, MM led a walk covering nine historical Christian sites (including Say Mia Tng on Prinsep Street). The aim was to inform participants of how Christianity began in Singapore and the contributions of early churches to the nation.
- Annual General Meeting (AGM): Held on 27 Mar, with new EXCO elections, and gratitude expressed to outgoing leadership. Pray for wisdom, humility, discernment, and reliance on God’s Word in their service.
- Nature Hike — Windsor Nature Park: On 25 May, a 7 km hike culminating at the TreeTop Walk. Members bonded through walking and fellowship lunch.
- MM Anniversary Meeting: Celebrated our 8th anniversary on 27 Jul with the message “Created in Christ Jesus Unto Good Works” (2 Tim 2:19‑21), followed by dinner.
- MM Fellowship Day: On 14 Sep, held at The Dew condominium. Activities and games encouraged interaction, connection, and relationships in a relaxed setting.
- MM Thanksgiving Meeting: On 23 Nov, message titled “Were There Not Ten? (Luke 17:11‑19)” followed by dinner. The message called for faith, gratitude, obedience, and deeper relationship with Jesus.
We are thankful for God’s faithfulness and the many blessings MM has received over the years — the gift of brotherhood in Christ and opportunities to grow in faith as godly men. We pray for continued blessing on this ministry, that the men in our church will grow in faith, character, leadership, and service. We invite your prayers in the following:
- Pray for faithfulness as disciples of Jesus Christ — that we may learn from His Word and also pass on its truth to others. (2 Tim 2:2)
- Pray that God will equip and train us to fulfil our roles as husbands, fathers, workers, friends, and servants — taking responsibility with joy and honour, modeling Christ’s sacrificial love and servant leadership.
- Pray for an atmosphere of Christian fellowship and mutual edification — that we may be iron sharpening iron, encouraging, challenging, and building one another in faith (Prov 27:17). May God grant us the courage to be open, vulnerable, share struggles and victories, and grow together as men deeply rooted in Him.
We welcome all men to join us for times of studying God’s Word, fellowship, growth, and encouragement as we walk the Christian life together. The Men’s Ministry is a place where brothers in Christ build one another up in faith and strengthen their bonds. Whether you are a husband, father, worker, or friend — this group is for you: a space to connect, share experiences, and learn how to live out your calling as a man of God.
“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
1 Tim 6:11‑12
